Bow Island RCMP and fire department responded to a house fire at 1 a.m. on Sept 13 on First Street West in Bow Island. The home was vacant and there was no one inside at the time of the fire.
“At this point not much to go with. I’m just waiting for some more RCMP to pop by and then we’ll commence with our investigation,” said Kelly Byam, Bow Island fire chief.
“Other then that, it’s just your basic house house fire.”
Byam says there is extensive damage on the inside.
“Unfortunately a lot of it is water damage. But we obviously use the water to douse the flames,” said Byam.
There were about 10 fire members that helped put out the fire quickly.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner and Bow Island RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
