Local Sugar Beet Growers Association announces its winners

The Bow Island and Burdett Sugar Beet Growers Association announced its 2020 harvest winners on Jan. 13 ,virtually

The top 10 growers were: Muller Ventures Inc. taking home top prize of harvesting 36.08 adjusted tonnes per acre. Bert Kolen Farms followed with 33.98 adjusted tonnes per acre, Gronalta Farm (33.68), Jonker Farms (33. 49), Dalarose Farm (32.3), GC Grol Farms (32.05), DJ Lynn Farms (32.01), Jeanette Young (31.97),Quattro Farms (31. 84), F&R VanDerHelm (31.77) rounded out the top 10 growers this past year.

The 20/20 awards— which means 20 tonnes and have in access of 20 per cent sugar— went to:

1.A&B Acres-20.41 per cent, 27.54 tonnes per acre

2.NK Dysktra- 20.44 per cent, 24.37 tonnes per acre

3.Lyczewski Farms Ltd.- 20. 31 per cent, 27.76 tonnes per acre

30/20 awards

1.Bert Kolan Farms- 20.40 per cent, 30.85 tonnes per acre

2.Gronalta Farms 20.05 per cent, 32. 26 tonnes per acre

3.Jeanette Young- 20.25 per cent, 30.34 tonnes per acre
