Redcliff town councillors voted to combine Redcliff Days and the Fall Festival into one event from Aug. 27-29 at their April 26 meeting.
Council voted on this decision after Coun. Shawna Gale suggested combining the two events.
“I find that date is too close to our Fall Festival,” said Gale.
“We have our Fall Festival within a month. Can we not just do a combine effort like we did last fall?”
Coun. Chris Czember said when the committee had their Redcliff Days meeting, it was suggested to put them together.
“As far as I was concerned, we’re going to do the two (events) in one (weekend) because they’re too close,” he said.
“We kind of picked that for weather wise, COVID, planning.”
The plan would be to take the budget for both events and eliminate the Fall Festival name this year and make the weekend dedicated just to Redcliff Days.
