About 60 people attended the Foremost Historical Society’s grand opening on Sept. 12. Guests has the opportunity to view pieces of the village’s history, listen to stories from local residents and enjoy refreshments. Daphne Johnson, Historical Society president, welcomed everyone and thanked all the people involved with the success of the project. She mentioned there is more to be done and encouraged locals to volunteer. Johnson acknowledged Arnold Johnson’s family (many of whom were in attendance) saying she hoped he would be pleased with his former home becoming a historic display location. Long-time residents Doug Piper and Veston Granberg told stories about their time growing up in the community. Johnson reminded the crowd to take time to ask their older relatives about stories from the past before they are forgotten or lost.
