Redcliff RCMP Cst. Stuart Rankin presented third quarter crime statistics for 2021 to Redcliff town council on Feb. 14.
“For crime statistics across the board, except for one note there, we are down,” said Rankin.
“That would be for persons crimes, which has a change of an increase of 118 per cent. But that brings back into pre-pandemic levels.”
Fees Rates and Charges Bylaw amendments
Council approved first reading of the amendments to the Fee Rates and Charges Bylaw. Council initially recommended at the Jan. 24 meeting to change the ice fee rentals.
The proposed changes would begin Sept. 1and include non-profit youth organizations and non-prime time rates being set at $95 per hour, prime-time fee set at $160, public skating being free and multi-use sport court set at $55 per hour.
A facility cancellation fee
Prime-time hours would be from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Monday to Friday and Sundays (8.a.m- 10 p.m.),
Non-prime time would be Monday to Friday before 4 p.m. and after 10 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays before 8 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
The increase would reflect to help cover cost of future arena repairs.
A $15 facility booking booking cancellation fee is will be added and the two-hour minimum has been removed for ball diamonds.
Volunteer recognition
Council voted to host a tree-planting ceremony in lieu of a volunteer recognition event on April 24-30 during National Volunteer Week.
