With the April 29 Dennis Jones show closing out another successful season, Blues at the Bow is looking forward to the start of their new season.

“Jones is an American blues rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter based out of Los Angeles, he has released seven albums since 2003. Jones has opened for shows by Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy and Dick Dale,” said president Jason Ridell, adding that the process to get the artist here for the season-closing show had been, in a way, years long.

“We knew the last time Dennis played the Bow we would be getting him back. So you could say it’s been in the works for years,” said Riddell.

Overall, Blues at the Bow is feeling very grateful to have had a full season, something they haven’t properly enjoyed since 2019, and are already looking to the future and their rapidly approaching 30th season.

“We were a little rusty at the start this season, but it didn’t take long to get back into the swing of things. Just like riding a Big Blues Bicycle,” said Riddell. “The Legendary Downchild Blues Band did a sold out two night engagement with us for their ‘Longest 50th Anniversary tour ever’. It was amazing to have the band that inspired the Blues Brothers back at the Bow this year.”

Despite the rocky start, BATBOW wouldn’t change a thing about this season, said Riddell, and they are feeling optimistic for June 3, when everything starts back up again after the theatre and its volunteers have a moment to catch their breath.

“We will be kicking off our 30th season on June 3 with Annika Chambers & Paul DesLauriers,” said Riddell. “We always strive to get the best bands that will give our patrons unbelievable performances. Our venue is a great place to dance and enjoy live music.”
