“Times Like These,” the theme for Senator Gershaw’s 2023 graduating class, summed up their education journey.
Students, parents, family members and respected guests celebrated student accomplishments this past weekend. The 18 SGS graduates have collectively achieved 2426 credits and over $33,600 in Rutherford scholarships.
During the celebrations students reminisced about their most memorable moments, including class jokes, their Grade 11 play, and myriad of athletic achievements. Valedictorian Rylie Schiebelbein encouraged her class to treasure “Times Like These’’ and their memories from the past 13 years, as well as look forward to many more exciting opportunities on their horizons.
Deputy Superintendent Mark Heinrichs for Prairie Rose Public Schools challenged the graduates to take even the most difficult situations they may face in life in stride and choose to become someone great in spite of them.
Guest speaker and teacher Lana Cross celebrated the class as a whole, as well as their light-hearted classroom dynamics, many individual accomplishments, and their collective resiliency.
Great “Times Like These” should be celebrated, and the staff and community of Senator Gershaw School congratulate our 2023 graduates on their achievements.
