Premium Sausage celebrating summer with pop-up grilling, photo contest

Seven Persons’ iconic grain elevator is once again looking for ways to encourage more people to stop by and make the most of their summer.

On several weekends, when the opportunity arises, passersby can find Kurtis Penner and his friends or family manning the grill just outside Premium Sausage’s primary location on Highway 3, offering a $5 grilled sausage on a bun to anyone lucky enough to swing by during one of their “pop-up barbeques.”

It’s a great way for them to offer something different than their usual sausages on a bun, which is available every day inside the store, and to simply get out and enjoy the warm weather.

For those who usually prefer to cook their own, however, the family run business is also offering a chance to win a Premium Sausage gift card, all for a posted photo.

“So basically, we wanted to come up with a fun contest that people could participate in while they’re out enjoying their summer,” said Alli Penner. “So whether they’re maybe away camping, or getting ready for a family barbecue, it’s easy for them to get an entry into the Picture Perfect Summer Contest, which is what we’re calling it. So the rules are all you have to do is go on Instagram, and share your story, a picture of how you’re enjoying your favourite Premium Sausage product. So whether you’re cooking it up on the barbecue, maybe making it into one of your favourite dishes.”

The contest will run until the end of the summer, and selection of the recipient of the Premium Sausage gift card prize will be chosen at random from all entrants after August 31.

“The winner will get a gift card, it’ll be worth $50. So then they can go and shop for their favourite products in the store,” said Penner. “Perfect for that one last barbeque at the end of the summer.”
