A man and teenaged girl from Leader, Sask., were killed in a head-on collision on the night of Oct. 15 on Highway 41 northeast of Medicine Hat.
RCMP say their SUV swerved to avoid a moose on the roadway between Highway 545 and Township Road 190, in the very northern corner of Cypress County. It was struck head on by a cattle liner and then caught fire, according to Redcliff RCMP.
The male driver, 38, and female passenger, 14, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
The portion of Highway 41 in both directions was closed for a time after the collision at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
