On January 27, Bow Island and area residents piled into the Legion Hall for a night of games, prizes, and perhaps most importantly, steak.
Guests played darts, spun wheels, and enjoyed one of the 200 steaks made for the event, before enjoying a live and silent auction consisting of donations from the individuals and businesses of Bow Island.
The evening was a huge success, said Elk Brett Wozniak, and the organization is “extremely happy with the numbers they’re seeing” in regards to the funds raised. The exact amount collected is still being tallied, but the Elks are grateful for the community’s support.
In the near future, the community of Bow Island can expect to see cheques being distributed to various organizations and projects that help the town, as the Elks look forward to another year helping the town they live in.
