The County of 40 Mile Mobile App allows ratepayers/users to access information about the County quickly as well as receive real time alerts.

“The County’s goal is to make services available and as convenient as possible,” said Richard Unser, Information System Manager for the County of 40 Mile.

Unser says that the app is part of a package for internet hosting, design, App development and online forms we purchased through a company called SMBApps out of Lethbridge.

“We were looking to have someone redesign and host our website,” said Unser. “It was part of the service that they provided. It is maintained through the company hosting it and a few staff members here and funded through our operating budget.”

The app, Unser says, has access to online forms, allows people to report problems or enforcement issues, and gives people direct access to call or access frequently asked questions.

“It allows all ratepayers to access information without the need to call in,” said Unser. “They can do it at a time that is convenient for them. Generally I think the response has been positive.”

Unser says that the app is available through the Apple App store or Google Play and is free to use.

“As we continue to develop and improve the App, any input or suggestions to make it better or services they would like to see on the App, please feel free to contact us,” said Unser.”
