The Yellow Lake cost-sharing agreement, which was tabled at the previous county meeting because reeve Bryne Lengyel and councilor Gerald Reimer were absent, was addressed at their Apr. 27 council meeting.
One concern council had with the document was unforeseen expenses to the pump system.  Also, members of council indicated that there needs to be concessions included for road damage should a situation arise where an excess of water in Yellow Lake causes damage to county roads.
“If they won’t meet to discuss road damage, why should we meet to discuss pump damage,” said councilor Craig Widmer.
Reeve Bryne Lengyel indicated that while the county has been having good dialogues with SMRID, a meeting will need to be held soon as the county is not prepared to adopt the cost-sharing agreement which includes the County of Forty Mile, SMRID, and the MD of Taber.
