Elkwater residents will notice some major capital projects work being done around the townsite beginning this fall.
The wastewater force main upgrade will kick the projects off this summer at a cost of $845,000.Elkwater potable water reservoir and pumphouse replacement will begin this fall at a cost of $1.46 million, while the tender phase for the marina refurbishment ($3.16 million) will go out this spring and be completed by fall 2022 and the waste water lift stations replacement ($3.53 million) to have the tender go out this spring and completion date of fall 2022.
The marina refurbishment will ensure that users have a new and safer access to the marina docks stalls and a new breakwater and boat launch facility.
The potable water reservoir and pumphouse replacement will provide a safe potable water supply for the future.
Wastewater lift station replacements will ensure a continued and reliable wastewater collection system moving forward while the force main upgrade will ensure a continued and reliable wastewater collection system for the future.
It was thanks to an announcement by the province last year that the four projects were made possible through the Economic Stimulus program.
