The annual Praxis Family Science Olympics is held each fall to hopefully coincide with Science and Technology Week. This free family event consists of 10 booths that contain hands on science challenges and activities. These challenges are suitable for individuals aged 1-99! They can guarantee that there is something for everyone.

During the past few years, they have been fortunate to partner with the Medicine Hat College Education students. The students have gone above and beyond to help create a welcoming hands-on learning environment for all families. Pack a snack, bring the family and plan to spend a couple of hours, the morning or even the entire afternoon engaged in the wonders of science.

Praxis officials have been thankful for community donations and support that have allowed us to add a “competitive edge” to the day. If participants complete eight of the ten science challenges on their event passport, they will be entered into a draw for an exciting science-themed grand prize. Each year it is different, so make it a family event every year!

Praxis also contributes to the Medicine Hat College Summer Program and has a collection of hands-on science resources aligned with the Alberta Science curriculum:
