Third annual Alberta Agricultural Societies Day Sept. 21

On September 21 Alberta will recognize the incredible work of its 292 Agricultural Societies, which play an essential role in fostering community spirit across the province. These societies are the backbone of countless fairs, events, and community initiatives, and this special day is an opportunity for the public to celebrate their contributions.

Agricultural Societies are volunteer-led organizations committed to improving the quality of life in Alberta’s communities. They are the driving force behind local fairs, farmers’ markets, rodeos, and more, all of which bring people together and highlight Alberta’s rich agricultural heritage. In addition to these events, they provide crucial community services, such as hosting facilities that serve as gathering places and providing support during emergencies.
