Brooks RCMP respond to highway crash

Police believe the driver of a Honda SUV obeyed a stop sign but misjudged the distance of a truck when proceeding onto the Trans-Canada Highway from Range Road 145A, west of Brooks, on Nov. 1.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the resulting accident, which did not involve serious injuries. The driver of the Honda received a ticket for unsafe driving.

Ostrich found

An ostrich was reunited with its owner after Brooks RCMP received a report that it was wandering around Kinbrook Island Provincial Park on Oct. 31.

When Mounties arrived they found the bird within a fenced property and then determined its owner, who then retrieved the bird.
