Town slo-pitch tournament another success

The 11th Annual Slo-Pitch tournament was truly something special.

Thanks to the incredible support from the Town of Bow Island Public Works, North Forty Mile Recreation Society, Jayco Builders, and the Island 100 Initiative, we were able to transform Diamond C into the Kelly Byam Memorial Diamond.

For those who knew Kelly, he was someone who made the most of his days off—playing ball, enjoying life, and cherishing time with his family. On June 13, during the Bow Island Fire Department vs. Junior/High School game, we had the honour of surprising the Byam family (Karen, Kaitlin, and Chris) and inviting them to help us complete the final touches on the diamond. It was a moment filled with emotion and pride.

Together, with love and community spirit, we created something truly meaningful. We can’t wait to take the field soon and continue making memories—for Kelly.
