The following are selected briefs from the regular Jan. 19 meeting for Vauxhall town council.
Agenda
Council approved the agenda with the addition of two items under new business: ORRSC request and M.D. of Taber recreation funding. Municipal Affairs Letter Town CAO had received a letter stating that the Town of Vauxhall’s 2024 Municipal Accountability Program (MAP) review has been completed to the ministry’s satisfaction.
ORRSC Request
The Oldman River Regional Services Commissions submitted a request of support to council. Mayor Kim Cawley noted in previous years, the town donated $344, which they matched with their donation to Bow River Basin Council, as they were “smack dab in the middle of both rivers”.
M.D. of Taber Rec Funding
The town received a letter from the Municipal District of Taber, informing them that the town’s request for funding of $700,000 towards the rec facility was approved, with a funding agreement. Coun. Paul Ballard noted it was a “standard agreement”.
