Cypress County has selected a member of the public to serve on the subdivision and developmental appeal board.

Due to changes in the bylaw, the current composition of the board was found to no longer be in compliance with the board requirements. Council was required to appoint an additional public member to ensure compliance with the new bylaw, as the board consisted of two prior to the Feb. 3 meeting.

Council moved to appoint Tabatha Sept, who it was noted was selected due to prior training and qualifications that made her suited to the role.

The appointment is for a one-year term, but three-year terms have been a subject of discussion in the past to align with the length of time where applicable training is valid. Sept will join Todd Read and Della Burkitt on the board, forming the necessary quorum.
