A Medicine Hat man faces several charges after officers found a stolen vehicle at a city home, the Medicine Hat Police Service says.
Officers located the vehicle on May 26 at about 1:49 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block of Ross Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Redcliff. A 50-year-old man was arrested without incident, police said.
Police said the vehicle had damage to the ignition. Officers also seized several items, including property addressed to other people, three boxes of 12-gauge shotgun shells and tools consistent with break-and-enter activity.
Trent Collier of Medicine Hat who was also wanted on several outstanding warrants was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, possession of break in instruments and breach of a firearm and ammunition probation order.
Collier was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. He appeared in provincial court on May 28.
The arrest comes less than two weeks after MHPS charged two other city residents in connection with a separate vehicle stolen from Redcliff and found in the city’s Light Industrial area on May 13.
The investigation is ongoing.
