Summer in rural Alberta is all about coming together, and there is no better place to do just that than the annual Dunmore Days celebration. On August 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., residents will gather at 601 10 St. in Dunmore for a full day of affordable, family-friendly entertainment.
Drawing 400 to 500 residents each year, the event transforms the local grounds into a bustling hub of activity. It provides the perfect opportunity to catch up with neighbours, enjoy fantastic food, and celebrate the spirit of the local community.
A Packed Schedule of Entertainment
This year’s event features an expansive lineup of activities designed to keep attendees of all ages entertained from morning until night. Attendees can browse local goods at the mini-market, admire classic vehicles at the car show, and watch high-flying routines from Sway Aerial, featuring impressive dance moves and silks. Live entertainment runs throughout the event, highlighted by a performance from Logan Straub, proudly sponsored by CDO Contracting Ltd.
Families will find plenty of activities specifically geared toward younger attendees. Children can burn off energy in four different bouncy castles, take fire truck tours, and enjoy pedal tractors sponsored by the UFA Foundation. Painter Girl will be on-site offering face painting, while a kids craft centre sponsored by AHS MHCB provides a space for creative fun. When the afternoon heats up, a dedicated misting station offers a quick way to cool off.
For those looking for a bit of friendly competition or excitement, Badlands is hosting a cornhole tournament. The schedule also features a highly anticipated HALO ball drop and a lottery tree.
Good Food and Great Company
No community celebration is complete without excellent food, and Dunmore Days delivers on all fronts. Cypress County councillors will kick off the morning by serving a free pancake breakfast. Later in the evening, attendees can enjoy a free BBQ supper, generously donated and served by CRNL.
Throughout the day, visitors can grab a drink at the beer garden or purchase meals and treats from a variety of popular food trucks. Local favourites including Millies Soda, Kinfolk Burger, and Swirls will be parked on-site to satisfy any craving.
Supporting Year-Round Community Events
While Dunmore Days is a celebration in its own right, it also serves a vital purpose for the region. Hosted by the Dunmore Community Association (DCA), the event features an all-day silent auction. This auction stands as the association’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
The funds raised through the Silent Auction directly support the DCA’s efforts to keep community programming affordable and accessible. By placing a bid, attendees help fund beloved local events throughout the rest of the year, including the Kite Festival, the Merry & Bright Festival, Movies in the Park, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Mark your calendars for August 29 and bring the whole family down to 601 10 St. With a full day of great food, live entertainment, and neighbourhood connections, Dunmore Days promises to be a memorable wrap-up to the summer season.
