Redcliff Baden Powell Centre, home of guiding and scouting in Redcliff since 1979 held its second annual work party. It had its regular fall clean up and maintenance. Kim Donais, President of the Redcliff Scout and Guide Building Association said that they had a good turnout of helpers with 15 adults and nine kids.

“We had a heck of a good time taking care of lots of tasks and having a bit of fun,” said Donais.

The building has been operated and constructed by volunteers ever since it was built.

The guiding groups have their regular meetings in the building from September to the end of May, with sleepovers and various camps they hold. When its not being used by scouting and guiding groups, the Not-for-profit registered association that takes care of it rents it out to people for birthday parties, weddings and other events.

“There’s a small group of us trying to make sure the building stays alive and takes care of the kids in town,” Donais said.

The hall is owned and operated by a society called Redcliff Scout and Guide Building Association and an ongoing list of things needing attention is kept for regular building maintenance.
