The Redcliff Youth Centre has become a place where kids walk through the doors after school to build on their social skills and create a bond with their local community.
The kids have the opportunity to engage in programs such as DREAMS, McMan Community Services to build self confidence, while within their own walls there is a supper program and games to participate in.
“Lots of things are taboo subjects for kids,” said Janae Ulrich, program director for the youth centre.
“Again talking about mental health, domestic abuse and violence and what that looks like. Even just basic life skills, social and emotional needs, learning how to communicate with community members and having a positive impact on the community.”
The youth centre members will be have a busy start to the summer season in the Redcliff community.
Ulrich said the kids want to do an All Nighter night again this summer after a successful event in January. The night involves kids going out and pledging for the hours they can stay awake and the youth centre provides activities to play in during the course of the night.
The kids will be a hosting a  Yard Sale and the  helping out with the bouncy castle during Redcliff Days this weekend.
There will be a fundraising car wash at  Super Clean Detailing and Car Wash from 3:30 p.m.- 7 p.m. on June 23rd.
“The kids will come out and engage in the community and we’re going to have a barbecue,” said Ulrich.
Their first annual golf tournament will be in July with details to come.
