Get ready! The Schuler Community Association’s (SCA) Poker Rally & Car Show is on July 26.
This year adds a fun new twist. Elise, a SCA representative, explains, “Schuler has hosted a Car show for seven years, however, this is the first poker rally. The rally will travel down Highway 41, stopping at points to draw a card for your poker hand(s). We will end in Schuler for the car show, and any participant in the rally can enter their car into the show for free.”
The rally begins at 9 a.m. at UFA in Dunmore and goes until 10 a.m. The car show starts 11 a.m. at Schuler Centennial Park. Poker is $15 per hand. Cars can be entered for $10 per vehicle if you have not participated in the rally. There will be trophies for car show winners, and poker hand winners are announced at 2 p.m.
She continues about what makes the day so fun, “The car show registrants and spectators spend the afternoon visiting and enjoying the variety of cars. There will be a concession for lunch; burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and treats, along with tradeshow tables of baking and custom items for shopping.”
The car show has seen many great vehicles over the years, including vintage Model Ts, tractors, muscle cars, classic cars, motorcycles, and a cabover. Each year brings out vehicles that delight both car lovers and those there just to have a great time. Be sure to bring your camera!
Also to bring, says Elise, is “a chair if you want to sit outside with your car and possibly some shade cover.”
She concludes, “There will also be 50/50 tickets available for purchase, and bucket draw prizes! All proceeds will be donated to AJ’s Loan Cupboard in Medicine Hat. All vehicles and bikes are welcome as are restored vehicles or projects! Anyone can win!”
Mark your calendar and plan to attend this event that continues to grow in scope and size every year. Be sure to follow the Schuler Community Association on Facebook to learn more about this and other events.
