An individual in Bow Island has died after falling through the ice on Rattlesnake Lake.
The Bow Island Fire Department were dispatched to Rattlesnake Lake at 9:43 p.m. on the night of Jan. 1 in response to reports of a person falling through the ice.
Command 1, Rescue 1 and Rescue 3 were dispatched to the scene and the individual was located and retrieved, but did not survive.
Bow Island Emergency Services advises residents that lake and river ice can be unpredictable with changes in temperature and water movement, and reminds residents to use extreme care and attention if they choose to go out on the ice.
Bow Island Emergency Services told Southern Alberta Newspapers that further information is unavailable at this time.
