Bow Island RCMP responded to 80 calls for service during September, the detachment said in a media release on Oct. 6.

Eleven of those were traffic collisions, and eight of those crashes involved wildlife.

RCMP also investigated the theft of a mini excavator taken from an industrial area in Bow Island. The machine had a GPS tracker, which helped officers locate it in British Columbia. RCMP in B.C. have taken over that investigation.

Police laid an impaired driving charge against one person after responding to complaints about an erratic driver travelling on Highway 3. Officers also issued several other ticket to drivers during proactive patrols.

In a separate case police on patrol in town saw a vehicle drifting around a corner at an intersection. The driver was ticketed for stunting.
