The County of Forty Mile Fire Department has been training in-house for two years to qualify firefighters in NFPA 1001 Level 1 and 2 and NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations.  Firefighters have spent countless hours doing online schoolwork and attending evening and weekend classes for the opportunity to better themselves and help protect their community.  Five County of Forty Mile firefighters were recognized for their accomplishments with a plaque and a $1000 cheque to thank them for their time and commitment on April 28.   The firefighters from right to left are Jeremiah Jost (Foremost District Deputy Chief), Brenton Reimer (Burdett Captain), Deiryk Schussler (Burdett firefighter), Dustin McGarry (now former Rrgional fire chief as of April 30), George Mills (Burdett firefighter), and Serge Langeweg (Burdett District fire chief).
