The Foremost & District Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Week (Oct. 19-25) will include a free watch party on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Chamber Office (218 Main Street).

The Chamber says the event is about more than professional development. It is a chance to recognize the role local businesses play well beyond their storefronts.

“Our local businesses do so much more than provide services,” said Terri-Lynn Arnal, chamber secretary. “They sponsor community events, support local fundraisers, and step up whenever their neighbours need help. Small Business Week is our opportunity to give something back to them.”

A Full Day of Practical Learning

The watch party features a series of streamed sessions focused on the challenges businesses face every day.

• 10–11 a.m. | State of Chambers in Action: A look at how modern Chambers serve their members and the wider community.

• 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. | Strategy & Leadership in Action: Guidance on turning big ideas into clear priorities and practical next steps.

• 12:15–1:15 p.m. | Visibility & Revenue in Action: Ways for businesses to get noticed, show their value, and build revenue.

• 1:30–2:30 p.m. | Chamber AI Tools in Action: Practical ways artificial intelligence can save time and support day-to-day work.

• 3:00–4:30 p.m. | Keynote with Alan Frew: The Glass Tiger frontman closes the day.

The Chamber, which is running the watch party in conjunction with the Bow Island and Burdett Chambers, says the format is designed for time strapped owners and staff in mind.

“If you cannot join the watch party at your local Chamber, ask for the virtual link. A link will remain active after the event, so you can watch it at your own pace and time,” says Arnal.

Keynote Brings Music and Motivation

The day wraps up with a keynote by Alan Frew, frontman of the iconic Canadian band Glass Tiger. Frew is known for bringing “humour, music and a message about making the most of what you can already do,” a theme the Chamber believes will resonate with local entrepreneurs.

Open to the Whole Community

While the sessions focus on business topics, the Chamber notes that the invitation extends to all. Business owners, employees, volunteers, community leaders, and residents are all welcome to attend at no cost.
