The holiday season is here – and in Redcliff, there is no shortage of things to do, see, and experience on a very special evening on December 5.
It all kicks off with the first ever Redcliff Santa Claus parade, which starts at 6 p.m. The parade will wind down Broadway Avenue and make a turn onto 3 Street.
Don’t just be a spectator; get involved! Your club, group, or business is invited to participate. There is no fee to register your group. Simply email the team name to cps@redcliff.ca by December 1. Then create a float, decorate a vehicle, march as a group tossing candy – be creative! The more involvement, the higher the holiday spirit.
Local homes and businesses are invited to decorate their storefronts and windows and have a well lit display ready to turn on by 6 p.m. on December 5. A committee of community members will be driving throughout town to choose their favourite three residential homes, and their favorite three businesses. Prizes will be awarded to those top three in the form of gift cards to local businesses.
If your business is located on the opposite side of the highway, that is not an issue. Simply send an email to Melody at cps@redcliff.ca with the name and address, and the committee will be sure to stop by.
The joy continues after the parade with the Tree Lighting and Moonlight Madness sale.
Start to gather around 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Park and until 8 p.m, enjoy free hotdogs, smores, and hot chocolate (while supplies last) along with photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and hayrides with the Grinch. The tree will be lit at 7 p.m.
Many stores will be extending their hours until 8 p.m. for the Moonlight Madness sale. Note that Parkside School will also be hosting a vendor market in their gymnasium from 4-8 p.m.
Mark your calendars for December 5 and plan to attend all the festivities in Redcliff. From observing to participating, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
